Stages of Autism Conference

April 2 & 3, 2012

The Stages of Autism Conference Committee invites abstract submissions for review in all disciplines relevant to autism research for adolescents and adults, for presentation in the Research Poster session at the 2012 Stages of Autism Conference in Hamilton, Ontario.

Research poster / demonstration:  Abstracts should be submitted as single presentations and should highlight an area of research and its application to autism spectrum disorders in adults and adolescents.

To submit an abstract for consideration, please register for the conference, at http://www.woodview.ca/conference-home/keynote-and-session-speakers.html.   Please indicate in the ‘Note to Seller’ section of the payment form of your intention to submit a research abstract, and the proposed title. You will receive an email from the Stages of Autism Conference Committee. Research Poster presentation day will be Monday, April 2nd, which coincides with World Autism Awareness Day.

RULES FOR SUBMISSION AND PRESENTATION OF RESEARCH POSTERS

1.   There is no extra fee to present Research Posters.  However, presenters must register and pay the registration fee for the conference by the early bird registration deadline of February 29th.

2.   Presenters should indicate that they are intending to submit a research abstract. If registering online, the “Note to Seller” section appears during the payment process.  If sending cheque or money order please indicate on registration form your intention to submit a research abstract. Remember to include the title of the Research Poster.

3.   An individual may appear as the first author or presenter on only one abstract.

4.   Abstracts must be submitted by March 16th, 2012 at 12:00 midnight, Eastern Time.

5.   Funding sources (sponsors) must be identified, including commercial, public, or private foundation grants, and off-label use of drugs must be declared.

6.   Submission of a research abstract for poster presentation is predicated on the following: 

  • a) Any work with human or animal subjects reported in the abstract complies with the guiding policies and principles for experimental procedures endorsed by the National Institutes of Health.
  • b) Each author has given consent to appear as an author. Each author will automatically receive notice of the poster submission, and will be able to view it at any time.

 

7.  Any real or perceived financial conflict of interest (COI), such as royalties, pharmaceutical relationships, case litigation, etc., of each investigator must be reported. Any potential for financial gain that may be derived from reported work may constitute a potential conflict of interest. At the time of submission, the final step in the process will be the requirement for each author to sign the personal COI statement. Failure to declare a real or perceived COI will result in withdrawal of the abstract from Poster presentation and the Program and Abstract books. All COI statements must be displayed in poster presentations and they will be identified in both the Program and Abstract Books.

8.  The size of the research poster shall be:
     84 cm tall X 120 cm wide
