Transitional Programs
Our staff at Woodview Learning Centre takes pride in our professional, personalized Transition Programs developed for each student entering WLC and for students moving to another school after Woodview.
Coming to Woodview Learning Centre
These individualized programs can include: meeting with existing parents at Woodview for a personal discussion, school tour by our Program Manager, videos, letters from students, home visits, consultation meetings, preschool visits and outings, meetings with teachers/providers from previous programs, and meeting with doctors
Leaving Woodview
Many of our students have successfully graduated to either an Elementary or High School environment. We provide detailed sharing of educational information, instructional strategies, learning styles, etc. to the new Administrators, Teachers and SERTS. The staff at Woodview Learning Centre acts as a liaison between the student, parents, and new staff for a successful transition. A buddy system is established with another student. Visits are done over time, with a staff member, until the student feels comfortable and confident in his / her new setting. We are proud of our students who are now able to integrate back into the public or catholic school system.
